Install and open DemoShots
Install DemoShots from the Chrome Web Store, pin it to the Chrome toolbar, and select the icon to open the Recording Studio.

Getting started
Record your screen
Record the current tab, or use Chrome to choose a tab, window, or screen. You can also turn on your camera, microphone, or audio from the tab or screen. Some Chrome pages cannot be recorded.
Stop and edit
Select Stop and edit from the DemoShots toolbar icon or the pinned red recording tab. You can also use your keyboard shortcut. Your recording opens in the editor.
Generate captions
Turn on your microphone when recording if you want captions. The first time you add captions, select Download model. Keep the editor open while it downloads and gets ready. This lets DemoShots create captions on your device.
Export a video
Select Export in the editor and keep the tab open until your video is ready. DemoShots creates the file on your device. Longer videos and higher resolutions can take more time.
Delete local data
Delete a recording from your library to remove the video and its edits. To delete all DemoShots data, uninstall the extension or clear its stored data in Chrome.
Troubleshooting
Before contacting support
- Check that you are using Chrome 116 or newer.
- Reload the page you want to record after installing or updating DemoShots.
- Check that Chrome has access to the camera or microphone you selected.
- Keep the Recording Studio, editor, and export tab open while you are using them.
- Try recording a regular website that starts with HTTPS. Chrome blocks recording on some browser pages.
